Expanding with a new large factory

Norcable has purchased new land in Haugaland Business Park, and is now starting construction of a new large factory that can provide employment for up to 120 people.

Norcable first moved into Haugaland Næringspark in the fall of 2024. Now they are expanding their investment, and have therefore purchased additional land in the park. The company is in the process of planning a new factory on the 18-acre plot in the park. The agreement with Haugaland Næringspark was signed in September and marked an important step in Norcable's commitment to building industry, creating new jobs and contributing to increased value creation in the region.

– The new factory will give us greater capacity, higher efficiency and a stronger foundation for further growth. But, just as importantly: it will enable us to build industrial expertise and jobs, says Bengt Haugland, CEO of Norcable.

Many workplaces

The company currently has 33 employees, but after the first construction phase, this could increase to 85 people. Norcable also has an option for additional areas in the business park, and after a possible second construction phase, it could provide space for up to 120 employees.

– For us, the new factory is also about building lasting value for the local community, the region and for Norwegian industry, says Haugland.

General Manager of Haugaland Næringspark, Tiril Fjeld, is pleased that Norcable is now realizing its industrial project at Gismarvik.

– This is very good news for us, and a confirmation that our strategy is working. Norcable's choice is a textbook example of how we attract industry that grows locally, with short-haul raw materials and a strategic location in the middle of the region. It shows that we can build future-oriented industry here at home – and create values and jobs that strengthen the entire region, says Fjeld.

Opens already next year

The site is already under development, and the winter will be spent on design, foundation and fine-tuning of the site before construction begins in March. The factory will be completed in 2026, and the plan is for it to be a future-oriented production environment with a high degree of digitalization and automation.

– We place great emphasis on building a factory that meets future requirements for safety, technology and quality. At the same time, this is a lot about people – about creating an industrial environment with high competence and ambitions that can grow and develop over time, says Haugland.

 From growth to industrial power

In recent years, Norcable has experienced significant growth, driven by the need for more sustainable aluminum cables, both in Norway and Europe. The cables the company supplies are an important component in the transition to more renewable power and more capacity in the power grid, as a result of increased electrification and new establishments of power-intensive industries. Now they are taking the next step in their development – and investing heavily in building a new factory for the future and local value creation.
