This week we had the pleasure of welcoming the German ambassador to Haugaland Næringspark!
The German ambassador to Norway, Detlef Wächter, was joined by energy advisor Thomas Friebel and Michael Kern, CEO of the Norwegian-German Chamber of Commerce.
Together they got to see Norway's largest regulated industrial park of 5,000 acres, where Horizon Energy (with German E.ON as co-owner) is planning the realization of GismarvikCO2 Hub. The CO2 hub could become one of Europe's largest terminal and injection facilities to handle both European and national emissions. The hub will be connected to various permanent storage facilities on the shelf to increase capacity and flexibility.
The terminal is also central to the establishment of new industry and value chains that want access to low-carbon solutions.
With visits to Gassco AS and the process plant at Kårstø and the Maritime Forum as other points in the program, we were once again able to showcase our important energy region with a strong maritime cluster that is far ahead in the green transition.
We thank you for your visit and are proud of the close cooperation between Norway and Germany - especially within energy, industry and green transition!
