"E134 Haukelivegen AS" is an interest organization that works to make the E134 a safe and passable road all year round from east to west. They work for a traffic-safe, winter-proof and good transport corridor for most people, for business and for the country as a whole.
- As a national transport corridor between west and east, the E134 is naturally very important for Haugaland Nærinsgpark - and for the region as a whole. Ølen Betong and Velde Asfalt are among the players in the park today who need a safe transportation route to the east, and we are also dependent on efficient logistics. With a large port facility close to both the E39 and the E134, we are a natural logistics hub and depend on good connections," says Tiril Fjeld, General Manager of Haugaland Business Park.
Climate benefits and a larger living and working market
She is also concerned about the importance of "E134 Haukelivegen AS" in terms of a common larger living and working market.
- We have good partners along the route, and shorter travel times also make it possible to live in a larger area. The improvement and removal of height meters will also make the E134 one of the most climate-friendly road projects in Norway, in addition to making the mountain passes more predictable throughout the year. It's great to be able to support the important work that Pål Kårbø and "E134 Haukeligvegen AS" are doing," says Fjeld.
Strengthening is a prerequisite for further growth
- "We are very pleased that Haugaland Næringspark recognizes the work we do by becoming an owner of our company. E134 Haukelivegen AS is mainly owned by county councils and municipalities along the road, but part of our strategy is also to get business actors and goods owners on board. Strengthening the infrastructure, in this case the east-west road, is an important premise for further growth in business development on Haugalandet. We therefore look forward to good cooperation with Haugaland Næringspark towards the important NTP work that will take place up to the Storting's decision in June 2024, where we will jointly highlight the need for a new road on E134 Bakka-Solheim and the construction of a new tunnel from Seljestad to Liamyrane," says Pål Kårbø, CEO of Haukelivegen AS.
"E134 Haukelivegen AS" is owned by four county authorities, 33 municipalities and 8 companies. From Karmøy in the west to Asker in the east.
