The groundbreaking ceremony for Vassbakk & Stol's new head office and workshop in Haugaland Næringspark was held this week. The building is scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
Vassbakk & Stol is investing NOK 250 million in a new head office and workshop in Haugaland Business Park. On Thursday, November 6, the first sod was turned on the site located near Ølen Betong and Risa at the entrance to the business park.
– Strategic location

Since its inception in 1969, Vassbakk & Stol has grown to a company with 700 employees and a turnover of NOK 3 billion in 2024. The strong growth has created a need for larger and more modern facilities. The new head office brings together all the company's professional groups in one location, strategically chosen for further development. The company actually purchased the plot in Haugaland Næringspark already in 2010.
– This is an important step for Vassbakk & Stol. We are bringing our resources together in a strategic location and creating a modern working environment that supports our continued growth and ambitions. We look forward to building on our strong foundation and continuing to strengthen our solid position, says CEO Richard Kvalevaag with satisfaction.
Future-oriented
The new head office and workshop will provide work for nearly 100 employees at Vassbakk & Stol. The facility will consist of 2,400 m² of office space spread over three floors, as well as 4,600 m² of state-of-the-art workshop space and a 1,300 m² cold storage. The project has high climate ambitions and will be certified according to BREEAM-NOR level Good.

Skanska is the general contractor for the project, and will be responsible for the construction of the new facility.
– This project means a lot to us at Skanska – both because it strengthens our relationship with Vassbakk & Stol, and because it allows us to contribute to future-oriented and sustainable construction in the region. The collaboration has been very good, and it was good to finally put the shovel in the ground, says Jone Klingsheim, District Manager for Skanska in Rogaland.
Important for further business development

For Haugaland Business Park is important for several reasons.
– This is an important establishment for the entire region – and of course for Haugaland Næringspark. With Vassbakk & Stol we will strengthen a powerful cluster of key contractors within construction and civil engineering. This part of the park is ideal for supporting industries and industries that will contribute to the major establishments to come, says Tiril Fjeld, general manager of Haugaland Næringspark.
