During the spring, CCS Haugalandet has participated in several of Norway's most important arenas for carbon capture and storage. In June, the industrial collaboration was represented at both the CCUS conference in Stavanger and TCCS-13 in Trondheim.
Through conversations, posters, presentations and workshops, we delivered one clear message: Norwegian emitters need immediate access to affordable storage services on the Norwegian shelf – and it is urgent. To succeed in reducing Norwegian emissions and attracting new industry, this must be put in place.
At the conference in Stavanger, Haugaland Næringspark CEO Tiril Fjeld and Lyse project director Audun Aspelund participated in the session "One size fits all?". In addition, Audun and project manager Karoline Sjøen from CCS Haugalandet presented the project's experiences and challenges in the workshop "The first mile" on CCS logistics the following day.

CCS requires collaboration across the value chain
CCS Haugalandet is a collaborative project that represents existing annual emissions of over 1.6 million tons of CO₂ – and the volumes will increase in line with new industrial projects in Haugaland Næringspark. We are working to find cost-effective and feasible solutions for the transport of CO2 in Rogaland.
Participation in arenas such as CCUS and TCCS is crucial to sharing experience and perspectives, building bridges and influencing development. CCS is a politically driven instrument that needs both a clear framework and triggering support schemes.
We find it particularly useful to share the perspectives of emission stakeholders in such arenas, which are often dominated by other parts of the value chain. Together we will drive development forward!
We thank you for useful and exciting days in both Stavanger and Trondheim – and look forward to contributing with even more developed solutions and insights next year.
