Floating solar cells of 105 kWp have now been installed in Skiftestjørna in Haugaland Business Park.
"Floating solar power for Norwegian conditions" is an Enova-supported project between Sunlit Sea, Endra, EV Powercharge/Supercharge and Haugaland Næringspark, with the aim of developing floating solar power in the Nordic climate. This is an important step towards utilizing renewable energy both on water and in lakes, at water reservoirs and at sea, without major nature interventions.
Sunlit Sea is responsible for the installation and the panels. The energy produced here is sent 50 meters across the road to a battery bank connected to a fast-charging station provided by EV Powercharge. Trucks needing to charge in the business park can stop here and get short-range energy on the road.
- We will find out what floating solar panels can withstand in terms of weather, wind and cold. We expect positive results. We want to utilize the research, and we're trying to involve both upper secondary school pupils and students at the university college," says Andres Olivares, project developer at Enda, to Haugesunds Avis.
Business developer at Haugaland Næringspark, Finn Sæther, is very pleased to have another producer of clean energy in the park.
- "We need all the clean power production we can get, and solar power fits very well into our energy mix. With Statnett's planned 420 kV substation, Fagne's 132 kV substation, wind power both onshore and from the future Utsira Nord, solar power from Endra will strengthen the park as an important energy hub. With enough clean energy, the major establishments with jobs and exports will come to the park, Sæther believes.
