Exciting new year!

We at Haugaland Næringspark would like to thank our customers and partners for an exciting year!

2023 was an important and exciting year for Norway's largest fully regulated business park:

  • Earlier this fall, the MPE granted a license for Statnett's 420 kV substation to be built in Haugaland Business Park. Large pre-regulated land areas next to the planned substation site provide great opportunities for new industry.
  • Co2 terminal Gismarvik and Horizon Energy's plans are progressing. The facility now plans to be able to receive 24 million tons of CO2 annually and can be linked to several licenses on the shelf. "The CO2 terminal is important, not only for European emissions and CO2 that can be transported here, but also to be able to receive smaller national emissions. For us in Næringsparken, it is not least important to be able to welcome new industry. Together with 5,000 acres zoned for industry, port and electricity on the way to Statnett's 420 kV substation in the park, this means One Stop Shop in Europe.
  • Beyonder, world-class Norwegian technology. Our partner Beyonder, with its own battery cell technology, has started production in Asia and is now in the commercial phase. Europe will need this type of production locally. Beyonder points to Haugaland Business Park as the place for this if it succeeds! "We'll be ready to house them and other industries in the battery value chain.
  • Solar energy: we are so pleased that Sunlit Sea As will test floating solar in Haugaland Næringspark. The plant will be 105 kWp, and will be established in a regulated area at Skiftestjørna. The testing will take place in collaboration with partners Sunlit Sea, Supercharge, Endra, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and Haugaland Kraft Energi.
  • Risa establishes itself with Signalbygg in Næringsparken: Risa, one of the country's largest family-owned construction contractors, is now investing heavily in Haugalandet and has started work on its signal building with us. We look forward to the opening in 2024!
  • Norcable to Haugaland Business Park. Norcable is experiencing strong growth with its green aluminum cables, and needs more space and more power. Norcable's aluminum cables are produced by 100% hydropower, and with a focus on innovation in product and production process, they challenge the industry to implement new and more sustainable solutions. The production hall at Gismarvik will be ready in 2024.
  • CCS Haugalandet: Throughout the year, we have collaborated with our good neighbors on Haugalandet. Hydro, Equinor, Eramet Norway, Gassco in the study with technical economic analysis for transporting CO2 between the locations (in a large emission region) to a possible intermediate storage at Gismarvik. Sintef has led the study and Gassnova has allocated funds. The results will be presented at a final seminar in Oslo in January.
  • A new industrial collaboration was launched just before Christmas with a focus on the circular economy: "Industrial Symbiosis Haugalandet". The project has been offered funding from Innovation Norway and will uncover the possible use of side streams from each other and also be able to identify any new opportunities. Gassco, Hydro, Equinor, Eramet Norway, Horizon Energy and us are involved in this project.

These are just some of the projects we've been working on in 2023 and news is already expected in early 2024.Thank you to everyone who contributes, either as a partner, customer or "the sky team".

Norway's largest fully-regulated business park is on the move, and we're looking forward to an exciting 2024!

Greetings Team Haugaland Næringspark
